Heart pierced by a sword
Self-Control Is War

Self-Control Is War

Part of you wants to obey every desire that rises in you.
It tells you that giving in is honesty.
That indulgence is freedom.
That appetite is identity.

But another part of you sees the road ahead.
It sees the self-destruction.
It sees the regret waiting at the end of the pleasure.
It sees how easily “being yourself” can become an excuse to ruin yourself.

So Fear tells you to hold back, convincing you that it is not weakness to do so.

And all you can do between these opposing forces is stay aware.
Aware that one decision can drag you backward.
Aware that hesitation can haunt you if the moment passes and never returns.

The only real control you have is your actions and your reactions.
There is no peace in becoming better
Only battles you can't afford to lose
