Real Life
Real Life came from a hookup that went a way you're probably already familiar. 😎
This one out of many felt different, like something was sucked out of me. 👀
I sat in that hotel room by myself, realizing this is my life.
Chasing desire. Chasing escape.
Risky but empty and forgettable.
And I know I’m not alone in that.
Why is this reality? There are tons of reasons why, but who honestly cares anymore?
We just want to feel good.
It feels like nowadays, if you're not chasing dopamine, eventually you get tired of tolerating life and crash out.
Real life doesn’t stop.
Work drains you.
Money controls you.
The enjoyment you receive in life feels like a small break from the madness rather than an actual good time
I’m numb.
I’m distracted.
I’m overwhelmed.
The therapy, fake smiles, exercise, meditation, and constantly having to distract myself with some productive activity feel no different from drowning in sex and alcohol.
One is productive, one is counterproductive, both leading me to the same end, death
I got inspired for this next release by an instrumental that was going around called “credits songs for my death.”
And in the state that I was in, where I was just reacting to everything, it gave me this false sense of control in life.
If the only thing I can do is maintain or crash in life, at least let me have control over the soundtracks till the end
